Garden Chairs

Garden chairs are another category that can be considered deck chairs. Garden chairs can be placed on the grass lawn or right in the garden, on the soil or on brick, tile, or stone floor there; but most yards and gardens have some wood deck built in them, whether a small seating area or a large patio, so deck chairs function perfectly there as well.

Garden chairs have become works of art; perhaps the wrought iron and cast iron garden chairs have been given the most thorough artistic freedom. Furniture casts can be made with the most intricate details and styling and then countless pieces can be cast from them, so even the most detailed cast iron garden chairs can be affordable. Wrought iron garden chairs and other furniture may be a little more expensive as it takes more working by hand.

Plastic garden chairs are simply plastic or resin stacking chairs, though there are plastic garden chairs made to look like detailed cast iron chairs. The plastic chairs are cheap and are resistant to weather changes year round so are the choice for most small home gardens if all you need is a chair and beauty is not important.

Wicker garden chairs and bamboo garden chairs are also popular, though need to have more care taken to keep them out of constant weather changes, otherwise they can very quickly degrade and weaken. They are better kept on a deck or hard surface so the dirt or wet grass around a garden will not soften and rot them from the feet up.

But garden chairs, for most of us, mean quaint beauty. Most of us want to create some quiet corner or small deck in the garden, surrounded by plants and some shade, with a gorgeous set of garden furniture where we can relax, have an iced tea and snack, and appreciate the beauty of what we've grown.
